PA31 General Competency Training

Over four days, this course introduces pilots to the fundamentals of operating the Piper PA31 Navajo. Participants complete one day of ground training followed by three flights on the aircraft to meet the general competency requirement of CASR 61.385.


The course includes the following:

- Digital access to the PA31 AFM for the aircraft flown

- All training materials

- 1 full day of ground school

- An engineering and theory exam

- 3.0hrs flight switch time (approximately 4hrs log time) on the aircraft across three flights.


Participants must have the following experience and qualifications prior to commencing this course:

- A CPL(A) or 200 hours total flight time

- MEA Class Rating and RU & MPPC endorsements
